The Antrim 27 is a production boat first introduced in 1996. Some 27 boats were built and enjoyed a robust one design racing scene as well as many successful offshore adventures, including races to hawaii. βio, the first Antrim 27c was built in the same hull and deck molds as the production boats, but with a few major differences - her hull and deck are carbon construction instead of glass, with a major weight savings in the hull and deck. Extra ballast was then added to the enlarged keel bulb for additional stability. The rest of the boat is full of custom details, all designed for shorthanded long-distance ocean racing.
